Overview
“Protect, Detect, Respond” was the theme of the first-of-its-kind Water Security Summit held December 3-4 in Hartford, Connecticut. The event was very successful in bringing together professionals in the water industry to discuss and brainstorm methods to protect water supply infrastructure against terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
Organized and sponsored by Haestad Methods, this non-profit event attracted over 500 water utility and government officials from around the world and included presentations and panel discussions from over 30 water protection and counter-terrorism experts.
The Summit offered water utility and government officials the chance to explore guidelines and demonstrations on how to evaluate system vulnerabilities, develop guidelines for implementing security plans, and leverage existing federal, state and private resources.
